2018 Run Fit Racing Team Member Profile: Logan Smith

When looking to add runners to our 2018 racing team, we were really looking for either elite runners that finish at the top of the heap, or are on their own inspirational journey.  So, when we met our first sponsored runner, Logan Smith, he really was the perfect fit.

To help you get to know Logan a little bit better, we asked him a few questions and here is how he responded:

Run Fit Q:  What is some basic info about yourself?

Logan A:  I’m from Peshtigo, WI.  I’m 14 years old and am in the 8th grade.

Run Fit Q:  How did you discover you like to run?

Logan A:  Through Cross Country!

Run Fit Q:  What do you like about running?

Logan A:  It mentally helps get rid of stress and makes me a better person.

Run Fit Q:  What motivates you to run?

Logan A:  Awesome songs and I do it for myself and my family.  I have a great family that motivates me and has my back no matter what place I take!

Run Fit Q:  How often do you run and what do you do for training?

Logan A:  I run almost every day.  I also go to Iron House Fitness in Marinette, WI to weight lift and do hardcore ab workouts.

Run Fit Q:  What running goals do you have for 2018?

Logan A:  Take top 10 in most of my races, and ultimately do the best I can every time.

Run Fit Q:  What long-term running goals do you have?

Logan A:  I will be doing a half-marathon with my cousin this summer, and I hope to post a great time.  If I run any 5Ks my time needs to be under 20 minutes.  But really, I just hope to do my best.

Run Fit Q:  One of your biggest triumphs in life was battling and beating childhood cancer.  What kind of cancer did you have and how long did you undergo treatment?

Logan A:  I had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.).  I had to go through 3 1/2 years of treatments, and now it’s been 6 years since I got it.  I was 8 years old when I went to the hospital for a blood test, the next day the doctor told me I had cancer.  My parents were so scared because their son had a chance of dying at such a young age.  So life has been hard for me, but running helps me handle stress when I have it.

Run Fit Q:  How did you stay positive during that time?

Logan A:  I just tried not to think about it too much, and tried to have a normal childhood.

Run Fit Q:  What interests do you have outside of running?

Logan A:  I love sports like wrestling, track, bowling, and golf.  I also hang out with my friends a lot.

Run Fit Q:  What does it mean to you to be sponsored by Run Fit Nutrition?

Logan A:  It means a lot to me.  Especially to have amazing people that I have gotten to know personally. Thank you for letting me be a part of the business and the family.

We are so happy to have Logan as part of our 2018 Run Fit Nutrition Racing Team.  He is a very strong person that always gives his best and is eager to improve.  We’re lucky to have him!
